  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter or margarine, confectioner's sugar, flour and peppermint extract. Mix well.
  3. Separate dough into two equal parts, put into separate bowls and tint with food-coloring. Roll dough into SMALL balls, approximately 1/2 tsp per cookie. Place six balls in a circle, alternating colors onto cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes. NOTE: I guess you could omit peppermint flavoring or substitute it, but we like peppermint, so I have not tried variations or substitutions .

Easy and very tasty! Let the kids make their own cookies in the shape of presents, trees, christmas ornaments, etc.

Dough was too dry to roll but adding a few drop of water helped. My kids said they were just "ok". Thats why I only gave 3 Stars.

We liked this a lot and it also proved to be a good family project when the kids were home for the Thanksgiving holidays. We'll make these again, Thanks!
