Original recipe yields 2 dozen



  1. In medium bowl, combine oats, sugar, butter, and honey. Microwave on high for 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 minutes or until bubbly, stirring twice.
  2. Spread honey mixture in an 8 x 8 inch pan. Cool in refrigerator.
  3. In small bowl, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave on high for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes or until chips are soft, stirring once. Spread over cookie mixture. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Cut into squares.

Great to make for an instant craving for something sweet. I tossed in some shredded coconut to the hot oat mixture and topped it with white chocolate chips mixed with the peanut butter instead of chocolate chips. If I had nuts on hand it would have been a 5 star for sure! It wasn't overly sweet for me.



Recipe was indeed VERY quick and easy. However I found them to be a bit too sweet (this is saying a lot! I've got a terrible sweet tooth, didn't think there was such a thing as "too sweet".) I may make them again, because they were so quick and easy, but next time I'll add a pinch of salt to the oatmeal mixture and maybe some crushed pretzels or chopped salted peanuts.



Thought these were a little too sweet. They were too hard if stored in the fridge and too soft if stored on the counter.
