Original recipe yields 2 dozen
Directions
- Cream together butter and sugar. Add 1 3/4 cups flour gradually, reserving 1/2 cup for pastry board.
- Turn dough out on board and gradually work in remaining flour, if necesary. Roll dough to 1/3 or 1/2 inch thickness; then cut with cookie cutter
- Place on cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes.

I also roll them an 1/8th inch thick or less, between sheets of waxed p..." See moreaper, running back and forth to the freezer to keep them chilled! I then *paint* them with a powdered sugar/ milk mixture thinned up enough to use a silicone brush to just glaze them. Absolutely the best butter cookie ever! I usually get 40+ cookies out of the same recipe."
