Directions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill brats just to brown, then cut into 2 pieces. In 10-quart pot, bring beer, water, seasoning, and onion to a boil. Add potato and bratwurst. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Add corn, cover and cook 3 minutes. Add shrimp, cover and cook 5 minutes or until shrimp is done, and sausage internal temperature is 160 degrees F. Serve all with melted butter and lemon wedges.

Lay down several layers of newspapers and have a large stack of napkins and paper towels. Great for outdoor feasts but I would caution serving this indoors."

I might add the juice from one SMALL lemon (or omit all together), but cooking the lemons in the pot saturated the onions with the lemon flavor. They tasted terrible - we couldn't eat them.. Onions are a MUST with the beer brats, so it was a disappointment to not be abel to eat them. In my opinion, save your lemons for on the table! Otherwise this was a great recipe!!"
