Original recipe yields 70 cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In large bowl stir together flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Drop by teaspoon 1-1/2 inches apart on ungreased sheets (Make the cookies small). Bake for 12 minutes or until brown.

"Hmmm. I think this recipe needs a few more instructions, especially if using chocolate chips. Here's what I would add/change: Important...cool melted butter and shortening before adding to the mix (if..." See more you don't, you melt the chocolate chips). I would also cut the butter down to 3/4 or 1/2 as one user suggested; add 1/2 tsp. more ground cinnamon and split the sugar into 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup raw or demerrara or brown sugar. Other then that, I think the next batch should turn out better."
