Original recipe yields 3 1/2 dozen

Directions

  1. In small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  2. In large mixing bowl, beat together margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour mixture, mixing until combined. Stir in Rice Krispies cereal and chocolate chips .
  3. Drop by level tablespoons onto cookie sheets coated with vegetable spray.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove immediately from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container.

The doug..." See moreh is so delicious by itself -- the add-ins end up overpowering the cookie. I substituted some peanut butter chips for a portion of the chocolate chips, and I used Cocoa Krispies instead of regular. And I added an extra splash of vanilla extract for good measure. I found the cocoa krispies got a LITTLE bit gummy in the cooking process. Did anyone else have this result?"
