Directions

  1. Melt cocoa and butter or margarine over low heat. Transfer to mixing bowl, cream together. Add sugar gradually. Blend in eggs one at a time.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into chocolate mixture. Mix in nuts. Spread batter into a greased 8 inch square pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 - 25 minutes.

Very tasty! I swapped half the butter for applesauce and half the all-purpose flour for whole wheat, and they still turned out thick, rich, and moist. Thanks for sharing!

Ignore the negative reviews-- this recipe is excellent. Brownies were thick and moist, and cut really well. My coworkers loved them.

My hubby says my homemade icing is what made the brownies but I loved them just as much with out! They are definately the best ever especially with an added measure of Kaluha... ;) Thanx!
