Original recipe yields 2 dozen



  1. Heat sugar and syrup together in heavy pan until boiling. Add peanut butter. Mix until well blended. Pour over corn flake cereal , coating the cereal well.
  2. Press into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Melt chocolate chips in a small sauce pan. Spread over batter. Chill for 20 -25 minute. Cut into bars

very good - the kids all gobbled them up and asked for more. VERY easy to make. If yours got hard, it's because you let the sugar/syrup boil too long. Once it comes to a boil, take it off of the heat (the peanut butter still mixes nicely). My nephew said this is better than a Butterfinger. I might like a little more cornflake in it - I will use more cornflakes next time to test. Fun, easy, and good.



These are awesome!! I made 2 batches. The first one, I went by the recipe, the second, I used 1/3 cup of the corn syrup and 2/3 cup of powdered sugar with just a dash of vanilla. They came out deliciously, chewy, oowie good!



These were easy to make, but you gotta love peanut butter. They didn't really taste like Butterfingers to me and did not go over well with my six and four year olds.
