Original recipe yields 4 dozen

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Mix the butter with the nuts and sugar until well combined. Add the flour and the vanilla and mix.
  3. Rolling about a tablespoon of dough in your hand, form a half moon or crescent shape.
  4. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 15 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and roll in white sugar.

"These were okay, but somehow were just too sweet. I did have to mix the dough by hand as the very end. I also had to squeeze the dough tightly before forming the crescents. I had to let the cookies c..." See moreool slightly before rolling in the sugar since they were just too hot to handle. Update: I have lowered my rating from 4 to 3 stars. After one day these cookies are nearly tasteless. They just need something for additional flavor, but I'm not quite sure what. Possibly using almond extract instead of vanilla would help."
