Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream the shortening, sugar, and flavored gelatin. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
  3. Roll cookies into 1 inch balls place them on an unprepared cookie sheet, and flatten with a cookie stamp dipped in sugar. If you don 't have a cookie stamp, flatten cookies with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes , until set but not brown.

I used Cherry Jell-O and sprinkled with multi-colored Betty Crocker Party Sugar instead. I got lots of requests for the recipe at work. They weren't too sweet, a little salty (which I like)and...

Some of the coolest Christmas cookies ever! I usually make one batch of strawberry or raspberry and one of lime, so you have red and green! Everyone loves them.

This is my recipe, and I want to mention a few things I forgot when I submitted it. DON"T use sugar free gelatin! It will totally change the taste of the cookies, the same for using most sugar...
