Directions

  1. In a large saucepan combine gelatin power, cornstarch, sugar and boiling water. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until mixture boils and thickens. Let cool to room temperature while you prepare the berries.
  2. Add berries to the cooled gelatin mixture. Stir gently to coat, then pour all into crust. Chill uncovered for 1 hour, then cover and store in refrigerator.

Turned out pretty good. I used Jell-o for the gelatin though and I'm going to try it again this week but with just half the amount of Jell-o because the glaze turned out alot stiffer than I expected. Thanks a lot for the way to cook something like this that I always wondered about.

I followed someone else's suggestion of using only 3 boxes of Jello, and it turned out really good. I think one more box would have been too thick. I spread coolwhip over the top with strawberries on top for garnish. Yum.
