I was really disappointed with this cake. I LOVE chocolate and this just wasn't that good. It was dense, but NOT moist, it was chocolatey, but not sweet. I didn't like it, and I was a little embarassed to have served it to others without trying it first. Definately easy, but in this case it didn't pay off.
This cake is absolutely delicious. I have made it a number of times for special occasions. It's really quick and easy, but looks elegant. I think it's best cold, so keep it in the fridge.
This is a delicious and literally one-bowl cake. The make it extra sweet I double the recipe to make a two layer cake. I also doubled the glaze recipe and used the glaze in between layers and on top. I also put fresh berries in between the cake layers for an added surprise. It may not seem like there will be enough chocolate flavor when you are making the batter, but it works out great. This is a fabulous alternative to a box mix for birthday cakes.
