  1. Place sliced onions and butter into slow cooker, and mix until onions are thoroughly coated. Stir in bread and chicken broth.
  2. Cover, and cook on LOW for 10 to 18 hours or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir well during last hour.

After reading the reviews and reading a few other onion recipes, I added a teaspoon of soy sauce and a few splashes of worchestershire sauce to the mix. This soup turned out "souperb"!

I think this recipie needs beef broth instead of chicken broth to give it a richer taste.

This onion soup lacked flavor. It was every bland and to much bread mixed in the soup. This one I will not make again.
