Original recipe yields 8 servings
Directions
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender.
- Peel and mash until more or less lumpless. Add brown sugar, orange juice and rind, bourbon, butter or margarine, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix well. Spread in shallow dish (10 inch deep dish pie plate works well).
- Bake 30 minutes in a 350 degree F (175 degrees C) oven. Top with marshmallows and broil very briefly.

"I have made this recipe just as it is (except with a little less bourbon :) or have combined it with a sweet potato souffle recipe and it has been phenomenal both ways. Whenever Thanksgiving comes aro..." See moreund my friends are constently asking for the recipe. To combine it with a souffle recipe I simply fold in one or two eggs and add about a teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe. I then add a crubled pecan topping that consists of pecans, brown sugar, and butter. Yum!!"
