Original recipe yields 8 servings
Directions
- In a large saucepan saute onion, garlic, celery and olive oil until onions are soft.
- Add to saucepan textured vegetable protein, chili beans, tomatoes, water, sugar, salt and pepper, and chili powder. Stir occasionally, let simmer for 30 minutes. The textured vegetable protein will expand when added to liquid.

"Excellent Recipe, here are my modifications: - used Veg Ground Round instead of text veg protein - added a little white wine and only 2 cups of water, not 4 - 2 cans of kidney beans used - 2 clove..." See mores of garlic only. I put everything in a crockpot (sauteed garlic, onions & celery first) and left it on low all day until supper. Delish!!"
