  1. Combine the basil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, and Parmesan cheese in a blender. Blend until ingredients form a paste. Slowly pour olive oil into the mixture and continue to blend until smooth.

This is VERY thick as written. You have to play with the ingredients as stated. I had to keep adding vinegar and oil to this plus a bit of sugar to get the desired taste and consistency.
