Original recipe yields 10 servings

Directions

  1. Grease or butter one 2 quart gelatin mold pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil; add gelatin and mix until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Stir in mayonnaise, cottage cheese, pineapples, walnuts and marshmallows.
  3. Pour into molded pan and chill until firm. Remove onto serving dish and garnish with halved cherries.

This is a new and different way to have a light tasting, refreshing salad. Served it for company and everyone loved it!

Good. The kids would not eat it. My husband and I liked it, but it is too rich to eat a lot of and it makes LOT. I would make it again when there are more people to share it.

I tried this recipe for thanksgiving.. i had over 8 people try this recipe and they all hated it! we voted it as worse jello salad! it tasted like jelled mayonnaise. yuck... It was a waste of my time. On the funny side no one will ever forget this salad!
