"A friend of mine says the unsophisticated ingredients disqualify this recipe from being a TRUE quiche, but it's got eggs, spinach, cheese, and a pie crust, so you tell me! Whatever it is, it's delicious, and my picky kids even eat it!"

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Chill the pie crust at least 20 minutes before baking to prevent shrinkage.
  2. Prick the pie crust with a fork and line with a double layer of aluminum foil and a layer of pie weights or dried beans. Bake in the preheated oven until edge of crust is golden, about 10 minutes. Carefully remove the foil and weights and bake until the crust has set, about 5 minutes more.
  3. Cook and stir the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl with the salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth. Whisk in the heavy cream, followed by the spinach and the beef mixture. Pour into the prepared pie crust and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, 35 to 45 minutes. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.

ALERT - their must be a typo in the recipe, should only be one 10 oz box of frozen spinach. Otherwise, GREAT dinner. I used a pre-made pie crust (thawed overnight in fridge) and barely fit the...

this was really good... I didn't have spinach on hand, but I did have chopped broccoli which made a wonderful substitution.

I made a recipe based on this yesterday, and it turned out to be quite delicious! I used ground breakfast sausage in place of the hamburger, 1c onion, and fresh spinach in place of frozen. Af...

Very hearty meal, that's for sure. I added some chopped orange pepper just to add more veggies, and I used goat cheese instead of cheddar. I didn't put in as much spinach as called for--it rea...

I am the poster of this recipe. There is no typo on the two boxes of spinach. It fits! :) Also, my recipe calls for Heavy Whipping Cream (not Heavy Cream). For some reason, Allrecipes changed th...

DELISH !! Not having the ground beef, I used 8 leftover large meatballs coated with sauce, diced into cubes instead, and stirred the 1 cup of cheese into the egg mixture. I only covered the pi...

I've been cooking for over 50 yrs. and thought I'd try this. 2 boxes of spinach is way too much, and it leaked all over--good thing I put it on a cookie sheet in the oven. The cheese should ha...
