Directions

  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in vanilla. Stir in KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal until well coated. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9-inch) pan.
  3. Allow mixture to cool slightly. Using a round cookie cutter, cut cereal mixture into circles. Decorate with icing and candy as desired. Use a dot of frosting to secure the marshmallows and cinnamon candies.

They were a cute idea. And maybe a good project for kids over holidays . But there was no way they could be kept fresh to put out for holidays. After a few days no matter how I stored them, they were tough and chewy. and soggy. and the size of your fist when all other cookies are so much smaller/ Rice krispies treats are sweet already and icing is too much. Kids picked off candy and didn't eat more than 1 bite. Maybe these need to be eaten immediately.
