  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the sourdough starter, oil, eggs and milk; beat well.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

I used regular sourdough starter, along with whole wheat flour and honey. This resulted in great tasting fluffy pancakes!

These pancakes are really good! They do have the sourdough taste, but not overpowering. I didn't use the herman starter, but another from this site that I had made. I think maybe next time I may...

A good solid pancake. There is absolutely no reason to ever purchase boxed pancake mix again. Fluffed up nicely, tasted great.
