  1. Mix zucchini, onion, carrot, garlic, celery root, anise seed, celery seed, salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Gradually stir in flour until you have a soft, wet dough that sticks to your hands.
  2. Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Drop dough by tablespoons into the skillet, and fry on both sides until lightly browned.

I used celery instead of celeriac, and sorghum flour instead of ap flour. I probably would have enjoyed these more if I had let the vegetables soak with the salt to release the natural liquid f...

I used wheat flour instead of white and it still worked well. Hubby really enjoyed them. If you like middle eastern food this is similiar to baghis(sp) in Indian cooking. YUM!
