  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the garlic powder, ground black pepper and celery seed to taste. Mix well and form into 8 flat patties.
  3. Spread 4 of the patties with your favorite condiments, then place the 4 remaining patties over these and seal the edges.
  4. Grill over high heat for 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. Use either two spatulas to turn, or you could use a fish basket.

This is a fun and yummy recipe to make for very picky kids and husbands! One note...these make very large burgers...be ready to get full, but it is worth it!

A cute novelty idea. I probably won't make them again though. The meat itself had really no flavor and since everyone in my family eats something different on their burger it was too difficult to keep track of who's burger what who's.

yeah for Borrego Bombers, we have made these for years and years. We 'stuff' them with cheese and roasted ortega peppers, salt/pepper, add a little season salt to the outside of the burger, and grill away. Then add condiments to the outside to each persons taste. Good in a bun or plain.
