"jmellas, to answer your question as to why your dessert didn't firm up, I can hazard a few guesses. First, did you use actual milk? The recipe calls for whole milk, but I used skim and it worked just ..." See morefine. However, you cannot use anything but real milk. Soy milk, Almond milk, rice milk, etc. cannot be used as the pudding will not set up. If you did use actual milk, are you sure your pudding was instant and not the cook & serve kind? And if that isn't the problem, then perhaps your amounts were off and you used either less pudding or more milk than called for. Other than these things, there is no reason why your dessert shouldn't have set up."

"This seems to be identical to a recipe my mom has labeled as "Pistachio Mousse," and calls for pistachio pudding. This stuff is simple, but tastes great! Like a whipped cheesecake crossed with a cream..." See more pie, all on a shortbread cookie crust. I've tried a few different variations, including banana, butterscotch, and chocolate, but pistachio is still my favorite (and I'm not even a big pistachio person). As an added bonus, the spring green color makes it a good pick for St. Patrick's Day or Easter!"
