Original recipe yields 6 servings

Directions

  1. Combine the 3 cups of water and the tea bag in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove tea bag from boiling water. Stir rice and bouillon cube into the flavored water; return to a boil. Cover pan; reduce heat to low. Allow rice to steam until the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender, about 45 minutes. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Fluff cooked rice with a fork, and stir in butter. Top rice with chopped cilantro.

Nice! I only had jasmine green tea - which I find more "delicate" than black. I decided to use 2 bags to be sure and really liked the way this came out. The water/rice and cooking times are perfect - brown rice can sometimes be a stinker to get right. Thanks! :)

THIS RECIPE IS THE MOST FLORAL AND AROMATIC RECIPE EVER EVEN ALONE IT'S GREAT BUT I MADE IT FOR MY SIS'S B-DAY WITH A SIDE OF LITE THAI GREEN CHICKEN CURRY IT WAS MARVELOUS AND HEAVENLY THE CONTRAST WENT REALLY WELL! SO THANKYOU FOR SHARING THIS AROMATIC DELIGHT WITH US!!!

Loved this recipe! I used it as a side-dish to accompany baked salmon. I didn't have the cilantro, so I used basil. It turned out great! The Jasmine aroma and flavor was very delicate but grasped my attention every bite I took. I added a pinch of cinnamon on a whim. I feel it helped bring out the Jasmine flavor a bit and kept the basil from overpowering everything else.
