Original recipe yields 4 to 6 servings

Directions

  1. RInse oysters and soak in fresh water. Heat deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Combine cornmeal, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, black pepper and seasoned salt in a large plastic bag. Place oysters in bag and shake until well coated.
  3. Cook oysters 3 or 4 at a time in hot oil. Oysters will float and be golden brown when done. Drain briefly and serve warm.

This came out wonderfull, took whats his faces idea and used granulated garlic. Will be eating these again and again.

Wilemon

I have never soaked my oysters in water and won't again because the flavor was not as prominent as I prefer. I will continue to use the oyster juice to help the dry ingredients adhere to the oysters. I will make these again and add ½ cup of flour to the cornmeal mixture.
