Original recipe yields 1 - 9x13 inch dish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a large saucepan stir together brown sugar, water and 4 tablespoons margarine; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Meanwhile, cream together white sugar and 1/2 cup margarine in a large bowl, using an electric mixer. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Blend flour mixture into butter mixture alternately with milk until smooth.
  3. Pour boiling brown sugar mixture into 9x13 inch baking dish and drop flour mixture by spoonfuls into the liquid mixture.
  4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until set.

I was a little skeptical about the amount of water called f..." See moreor, so I cut it down to 3 cups. I used 1 cup of brown and 1 cup of white sugar in my syrup mixture. My dough was really thick, so instead of dropping spoonfulls into the syrup, I rolled them into balls and flattened them out a little to resemble biscuts. They cooked up beautifully...and there was plenty of sauce. I would make this again just for the biscuits!! I'll definitley keep this in my recipe box. Thanks again!!"
