“Chili powder and red pepper spice up this party-perfect mix--it will disappear quickly!” - by Chex® Cereal
Original recipe yields 16 servings
- In small bowl, mix sugar, chili powder and red pepper; set aside.
- In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to turn brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

Make sure to stop when it “just begins to turn brown.” Thankfully I only made a half recipe, so I didn’t waste too much, and I was able to salvage some b/c the top was still okay. Still sad though b/c it tasted really good. Will try it again, this time making the full amount and stirring often."
