"I'm not going to lie, my Chocolate Chip Cookie Cupcakes are still my favorite, but these are a VERY close second AND you don't have to wait for anything to freeze so they provide almost instant gratification, which makes me happy. Instantly. The very center of the brownie layer remains slightly gooey to give you that decadent brownie indulgence!"

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line 48 muffin cups with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the brownie mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup canola oil, and 1/4 cup water in a bowl. Stir just until fully incorporated, about 50 strokes; set aside.
  3. Mix the cake mix, 2 tablespoons canola oil, 1 1/3 cup water, and 3 egg whites in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low speed until combined. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Spoon the brownie batter into prepared muffin cups, filling each cup 1/3 full. Spoon the cake batter over the brownie batter, until muffin cups are each 2/3 full.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden and the tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 20 minutes.

  • Cook's Note
  • Frost with your favorite frosting. I prefer to use a fluffy peanut butter frosting.

I prepared these as directed and frosted them with a deep, rich chocolate frosting I thought was a great match, "One Bowl Buttercream Frosting," also from this site. There's not much more I can...

These are terrific! I made them with red velvet cake mix and frosted them with homemade cream cheese frosting. Sooo good. They were fun to make and fun to eat. Dee-lish!

This recipe sounded great and with all the good reviews I thought I would try it. Afer cooking them for an hour I finally gave up cooking them. The cake batter was so over done while the brownie...

Brownies are my favorite dessert so I couldn't wait to try this recipe! I used a vanilla cake mix and the Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting as recommended by others-these cupcakes are exceptionally ...

LTH, you've done it again! These rock! I frosted some with chocolate frosting, some with peanut butter frosting (Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting from this site), and some I swirled with both kinds...

These turned out excellent, I used orange cake mix over chocolate-lovers brownie mix. Frosted them with a simple white frosting and they were very well received. I only broke my diet enough for ...

These were amazing! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and tried to pipe the brownie batter into the middle of the cake batter. It was super messy because the brownie batter was thin, but...
