Original recipe yields 1 meatloaf

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Mix the ground beef, sausage, mushrooms, onion, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, egg, oatmeal, garlic powder, pepper, and Cheddar cheese together in a large bowl until evenly mixed. Form into a loaf and place in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Lie the bacon strips across the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

I read a review stating the mushroom and onions were raw after the meatloaf was cooked. Make sure to cut them small so they will cook with the meat. Mushrooms should be cut in half then sliced thinly and the onions cut into approximately quarter inch squares.... Just wanted to help...we have never had our mushrooms and onions turn out raw in this recipe!

My son, a friend of the family and I ate this for dinner last night. My son and I did not care for this but my friend loved it. I was skeptical of the sausage, but surprisingly, it did not overwhelm the meatloaf. What I did not like was the raw onion and the raw mushrooms. I think I like them more pre-cooked. I did not think that the bacon did anything for it. So, my friend has taken the meatloaf home and thanks you very kindly.

Verry good, easy to prepare,didn't have fresh mushrooms so I used canned and just used whatever shredded cheese I had around
