I was planning a party for a grand opening on a showroom and I asked a good friend for a punch recipe she gave me her mother's recipe and it was a hit at the party.

Directions

  1. Use 1 liter of lemon-lime soda to fill an ice cube tray. Reserving the cherry juice, place the maraschino cherries into the soda filled tray. Freeze 1 hour, or until solid.
  2. In a punch bowl, mix the remaining 1 liter lemon-lime soda, reserved maraschino cherry juice, pineapple juice, and orange juice concentrate. Flavor with peppermint and vanilla extract. Slide in the orange sherbet and the ice cubes you made earlier.

Very nice...great hit at office party. Added a little extra peppermint extract first time...added too much the second. Suggest 1/4 teaspoon. Also, going to freeze cherries in lemon-lime soda next time. They sit on the bottom and no one knows they are there.

I made this recipe for a baby shower and children's birthday party. It was well received at both. Try to make sure that each guest gets at least one cherry in his/her cup. This is a special, unexpected treat for everyone!
