Original recipe yields 24 cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Beat the butter and maple syrup together with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Stir the flour and salt together in a separate bowl; gradually mix the flour mixture into the butter mixture until just incorporated. Form the mixture into walnut-sized balls; flatten gently and arrange onto a baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes.

As the other reviews had said it wasn't sweet enough, I added a little sugar to the butter whilst creaming, about a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a tad more maple syrup than the recipe called for. I also sprinkled some demerara sugar over them before they went in the oven. I knew they would be good as the smell from the oven was fantastic. Will definitely make these again! Thanks :)"
