“A spicy-warm soup with light flavorings. As is, I believe it is mildly hot, depending on the jalapenos' quality. Consider adding chayote, more lime, beef broth, tomatoes, or hotter peppers. Very versatile recipe. I recommend serving this soup over or with rice.” - by BakingBecca

- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the garlic and onion; cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the beef, and continue cooking until the beef is evenly browned. Season with salt and pepper. Add the chicken broth, water, lime juice, and jalapeno. Increase heat to medium-high, and bring to a boil. Stir in bok choy, and simmer until tender, about 5 minutes. Mix in chile-garlic sauce.

"This came out great! Super easy too. This recipe satisfied my pho craving even though it's not your traditional beef noodle soup. I added soba noodles and upped the chicken broth because I like noodly..." See more/brothy soups. The lime is key (pardon the pun) - in addition to what the recipe called for, I served wedges with the soup so everyone could add more if they wanted. I did not include the chili-garlic sauce or the jalapeno to the pot since it would be too spicy for my 3 year old but adding it to my bowl separately after serving was still yummy! Will for sure make again!"
"Super good broth, we didnt have chili/garlic sauce but let everyone personalize at the end with the typical rooster chili sauce. Served over Soba noodles and it was a great hit...." See more"
