Original recipe yields 4 servings

Directions

  1. Mix the ketchup, Italian dressing, soy sauce, and molasses in a small bowl. Place the steak in slow cooker, sprinkle with onions, and pour the ketchup mixture over the steak.
  2. Turn the slow cooker to High and cook for 1 hour. Reduce the heat to Low and continue cooking until the meat is tender, about 4 hours. Serve on hoagie buns and top with 1/4 cup coleslaw, if desired, for a southern bbq flavor.

Great, tasty sandwich with lots of flavor. I recommend making the following adjustments to the recipe: season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper. Instead of using dried onion, I chopped a medium onion, minced four cloves of garlic and added 1/4 cup of molasses to 3 pounds of flat iron steak, allowing it to cook for six hours. The end result is a sweet, tangy bbq sauce with fork tender steak. Wonderful!
