  1. Cut boneless pork shoulder crosswise into 1/4 inch slices. Partially freezing it will make slicing easier.
  2. In the slow cooker, combine sliced pork, onion, garlic, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce; mix well, and cover. Cook on Low, stirring occasionally, for 6 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
  3. OR : In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, combine pork, onion, garlic, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until pork is tender.

This sauce is excellent! I used a pork roast and didn't cut it up ahead of time. I just put everything in the crock pot and cooked on low for about 8 hours. The meat turned out so tender, i just shredded right before I served it - super easy!


OH MAN IS THIS GOOD! I used a 5lb pork shoulder roast, doubled the recipe, put the FROZEN roast in the crock put and cooked about 11 hours. Shredded it and EVERYONE raved! Even my 12 year VERY VERY VERY picky nephew asked for seconds! I'm can hardly wait to make this again!


This recipe made my house smell just like a BBQ restaurant! I used boneless country style ribs and sliced diagonally, then packed the sugar VERY lightly and used 1 cup BBQ sauce and 1 cup ketchup. (I used the crockpot method). We ate our sandwiches on lightly toasted bolillo rolls with lots of dill pickle slices. These taste like the real deal, and would be a very low maintenance, low stress way to feed a crowd. We'll be using this again very soon!
