Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Rinse and thoroughly drain the quinoa. In a large bowl, stir together the maple syrup, olive oil, and cinnamon; mix in the quinoa and flax seed until the grains are thoroughly coated. Spread the mixture out as thinly as possible on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Toast the granola in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown, about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Let cool completely before storing in an air-tight container.
  4. All done! Now take a photo, rate it, and share your accomplishments!

This recipe wasn't designed for the omega3's that ground flax offers. It is more for fiber and to add a nutty flavor to the granola. However, if you chew the flax seed, you are grinding them, breaking them down and getting the benefits they offer.

Very poor recipe. Flax seed must be ground in order to benefit from the nutrients. Quinoa is a wonderful grain but not like this.

Has the consistancy of something like bird food, but has a good flavor. I added more cinnamon and some dried apples as well.
