  1. In large saucepan or Dutch oven over low heat, heat corn syrup and granulated sugar until bubbly. Stir in cereal until well coated. Press into buttered 33 x 23 cm (13 x 9-inch) pan.
  2. In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar. Stir constantly until mixture bubbles; cook for about 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir until smooth. Spread evenly over cereal base in pan.
  3. Sprinkle pecans over top; press lightly into caramel layer.
  4. In medium saucepan over low heat (stirring often), or in microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, melt chocolate chips. Stir until smooth. Spread carefully over pecans. Let cool. Cut into squares.

A co-worker made these for our cookie exchange and my wife insited I get the recipe. Really good and we will be making these for our Christmas party

The caramel part of this recipe definitely didn't work. So I had to make the caramel a different way. But in the end everything else was okay and the squares were enjoyed by all.

This is a yummy recipe, but I had to make changes. First, I didn't have Cocoa krispies so I melted some semi-sweet chocolate chips into the corn syrup/sugar mix just before adding the regular k...

Mostly rice krispies, could hardly taste the caramel or the nuts. The chocolate topping also cracked when trying to cut into squares. Would never make this again.

Awesome recipe!! Doubled the recipe, I substituded Cocoa Krispies with Gluten Free Rice Krispies and added Pure Vanilla Extract to the Caramel Sauce. Easy to make!
