“Very simple and good. Nice to have on hand the ingredients to make it for uninvited guests. Best served warm with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream.”

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Place the peaches into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, flour, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg just until moistened (mixture can be slightly lumpy). Pour the flour mixture over the peaches. Do not stir.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 1 hour. Serve warm.

This is almost the same recipe my grandmother always used, except she did not add the vanilla or spices. They add a very nice touch to a classic dessert. I also use peaches in heavy syrup and do not drain them. So easy to throw together. I have also substituted two cans of mixed fruit in the place of the peaches and that is awesome as well.

This was sooo easy! I've made it twice so far, alternating the second time with hommade canned bing cherries. We all loved it with vanilla ice cream.
