I came up with this idea one day while eating a calzone with a side of Jalapeno Poppers. I thought a jalapeno popper pizza would be awesome. I came home and searched online for a recipe like the one I had in mind and found recipes for jalapeno popper pizzas, but none quite like my idea. We tried it this evening and found it to be delicious and EASY!! This would also make a great appetizer sliced into small squares. Can't wait to try this with different meats, like sausage or ham!

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Stir together the softened cream cheese and ranch dressing mix in a bowl until smooth. Spread the mixture on the pre-baked crust. Sprinkle the jalapeno slices and bacon on top of the cream cheese mixture; then top with the shredded cheese.
  3. Combine the melted butter and seasoned bread crumbs. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the pizza. Bake in preheated oven until the bread crumbs are nicely browned and the cheese has melted, about 15 minutes.

My pre-baked pizza crusts were the small 8" thin crust variety, comes in a package of 4. Mixed cream cheese, ranch dressing and diced pickled jalapeno since I didn't have fresh. Instead of the bacon bits, I used pepperoni and didn't do the buttered bread crumbs at all. I made up 2 of the pizza crusts and have more than enough of the mixture for the other 2 at another time. We loved it! Jalapeno poppers are my DH's favorite snack food, next to pizza and now you've gone and combined the two! Accept my sincere thanks!!!!

The filling was great but the topping destroyed it for us. Recommend using crumbled Ritz Crackers instead of the breadcrumbs.

This was good, and hubby LOVED it! I used 'New York Italian Pizza Dough' from here for the crust and made a 14-inch pizza. I used diced jarred jalapenos (did not measure amount used) and also added on some cheddar that I had left. I did not use all the breadcrumbs called for, but more of just a sprinkling. This was fun for something different, and I would make it again! Thanks for sharing. :)
