  1. Combine ground beef, egg, panko bread crumbs, onion, and 1/4 cup cream of mushroom soup in a large bowl. Divide beef mixture evenly into 6 portions; shape each portion into a 1/2-inch thick patty.
  2. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-heat. Cook the burgers until browned, 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Whisk together the remaining cream of mushroom soup and beef broth in a bowl until smooth. Pour mixture over patties, then reduce heat to low. Simmer until the patties are no longer pink in the center, about 20 minutes.

Excellent the way this is written. Also, you could actually cook and crumble the ground beef so the chunks are larger, then make the gravy and add to that to the ground beef and cook it down for a while, like a stroganoff. Serve over potatoes or egg noodles!


I have done this for years only i just make 1 large patty in my fry pan and serve it like meat loaf we love it with hashbrowns and some garlick.

This recipe has a great combo: easy and tasty. Served with mashed potatoes. The gravy was delicious. Would be even better with mushrooms and/or other veggies added. I used lean ground beef which made it difficult to hold the patties together. Kids were a bit reluctant, but everyone ate it and seemed to like it. I have never used panko before, so now it is in my pantry! Thanks for the practical, yummy recipe.
