Original recipe yields 6 servings

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F. In medium skillet over medium heat, crumble and brown sausage until cooked. Place into pie shell, and top with Swiss cheese and spinach. In bowl, combine eggs, half and half, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour over sausage mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Tried this recipe and maybe I didn't follow it properly because the bottom of the crust came out watery. I'm thinking maybe the next time I make this, I won't use as much half and half. Instead of a cup and a half, I'll just do a cup.

I tried making this today, and botched it so badly; I accidentally grabbed fat-free half-and-half (yes, it DOES exist, apparently), the wrong kind of sausage, and the wrong size of pie tin. Tried to balance out the ingredients until they fit...and still ended up with an utter mess in the oven. It STILL came out pretty darn tasty, so it must be FANTASTIC when done properly!
