Footnotes

  • Cook's Tip: While any bacon will work in this recipe, smoky thick-sliced bacon produces the best results. To substitute ham for the bacon, cook garlic in 1 tablespoon olive oil and add 1 cup diced ham with the tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Recipe may be prepared with refrigerated tortellini in place of frozen. Use a 20-oz package and increase water to 1-1/4 cups.

This was so good!! I made this last night. Simple recipe that can be thrown together in a matter of minutes. My whole family loved it. The only change I made was using the Italian Cheese and Herb cooking creme from Philadelphia instead of the chive and onion cream cheese.

Definitely a hit with my fairly picky man. It's hard to go wrong with a robust red sauce, bacon, and cheese stuffed tortellini. Delicious and satisfying.
