Original recipe yields 24 servings



  1. Mix first 2 ingredients; press onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan.
  2. Beat cream cheese, dry vanilla pudding mixes and 1-1/2 cups milk in large bowl with mixer until well blended; spread over crust.
  3. Beat chocolate pudding mix and remaining milk with whisk 2 min.; spoon into resealable plastic food storage bag. Snip off small corner from bottom of bag. Inserting tip into pudding mixture, squeeze chocolate pudding into 6 lengthwise stripes over vanilla pudding. Drag toothpick through the stripes to decorate. Refrigerate 4 hours.

This tastes pretty good. It tastes exactly like what you would expect. However, I found the recipe is not quite right. The Vanilla pudding came out WAY to thick and did not look pretty at all. Next time I will add an extra 1/2 cup and see.

This was good...simple, easy and falls under the "how could you not like this?" category. Very traditional tasting and I think it would appeal to most everyone (I'm thinking this would be a nice summer dessert)....BUT, lacked the WOW factor. But that's OK...sometimes GOOD is good enough. By the way - my hubby loved it and I enjoyed a nice chunk!



I have tried this recipe a few times, I found by making the center via the directions, it is just too thick, does not blend 100% and does not spread without peeling up the crust; it was also lacking something. I now use the recipe as a general guideline and have heavily modified it for the better. As someone else posted, add an extra 1/2 cup of milk to the center to make it blend better and not be too thick, I make the middle from two packages of chocolate pudding, not vanilla, and top with cherry pie filling, not more pudding; everyone in the house loves this version much better.
