Footnotes

  • Recipe Tips: For a Holiday Twist, use 5 frankfurters and cut each into quarters lengthwise, then cut in half crosswise, making 40 pieces in all.  Twist each pastry strip into a spiral shape.  Wrap each twisted pastry strip around 2 pieces frankfurter and press to seal.  Brush with the egg mixture and bake as directed above.

I cut the hot dogs in half, but as suggested in the footnotes, cutting them into quarters might even be better for party trays, making them a single bite. There is little bit of "technique" involved in wrapping the hot dogs and, hopefully, I'll do better next time. Yes, there will be a next time. These are easy and tasty.
