  1. Sprinkle salt over cucumbers in a bowl. Let stand until cucumbers are soft, about 5 minutes. Squeeze liquid from cucumbers and discard. Add dill to cucumbers.
  2. Mix sour cream, lemon juice, and sugar in a bowl; add to cucumbers and toss to coat. Season with black pepper. Chill completely before serving, at least 30 minutes.

I made this dish for my Polished themed Christmas eve dinner. It was a huge hit and everyone raved about.I was extremely happy with the results of this recipe.

Better after about 6 hours chill time.

I make this frequently BUT I use plain Greek yogurt instead of the sour cream (less calories) and add chopped onion. It's great served as a side dish with fish.
