I'm happy to be the first reviewer of this recipe, so that I can enthusiastically report that these potatoes were WONDERFUL. Fragrant, flavorful and rich, they don't take a back seat to the main dish even tho' they are a side dish. I loved the dill in the potatoes, an herb I use routinely in grilled potatoes, but this was the first time I've used it in potatoes like this. Using red potatoes, coupled with the green of the herbs, also made for great eye appeal. This is not an extraordinary recipe for smashed potatoes, just a darned good one.

Read reviews first and adjusted thyme to only 1/4 tsp., used 1.5 tsp. minced garlic in place of garlic salt, and the Paula Dean in me used 1/2 cup butter (shhh). They came out GREAT. All around we are pleased with these and would make them again for sure. Pardon the photo, chicken roasting in oven so didn't get to take a fancy plated photo
