Directions

  1. Place potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender, about 20 to 25 minutes. Drain.
  2. Mash the potatoes with sour cream, milk, butter, jalapeno pepper, Monterey Jack cheese, and garlic powder in a bowl using a potato masher or fork until smooth and fully incorporated.

Wow! These are spicy! I didn't know if the recipe called for fresh or canned jalapenos. I used canned (jarred) my goodness these were hot. I would use a LOT less jalapenos next time. The recipe does say "To taste" lesson learned. You can always add more but you can't take them out once they are in there.
