Put this in front of the guys during the next game and watch it disappear! It's easy to control the heat by removing the seeds and ribs (the whitish membrane inside the pepper) before dicing to result in a dip that is mild, medium, or hot and spicy, to suit your taste. For a mild dip, remove all seeds and ribs. For a very spicy dip, leave all the seeds and ribs intact. Serve with sliced sourdough baguettes.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Fold cream cheese, mayonnaise, sausage, green onions, Italian cheese blend, jalapeno pepper, and garlic powder together in a bowl until evenly mixed; transfer to a small baking dish.
  3. Bake in preheated oven until hot and bubbling, 15 to 20 minutes.

Different, rich, and delicious! I used turkey kielbasa, low fat mayo and low fat cream cheese. I used pickled jalapeno rings chopped instead of a fresh jalapeno. It could have actually been a bit spicier for me personally. I also added a sprinkle of salt and pepper and used a 4 cheese pizza blend since I could not find the 6 cheese blend. Our company loved it served with pita and tortilla chips. No leftovers! Thanks!

We LOVED this! Made it just as written, and feel no changes are needed...the flavor is really just fantastic! A BIG hit, and a keeper, for sure~YUM! Thanks for sharing, Valerie! :)

This dip was a huge hit at a 4th of July picnic. I doubled the recipe but did not double the jalapeno because we have several family members who don't do heat very well. Next time I'm making a "whimpy" batch and a "real" batch with extra jalapeno. Because I doubled it, it took a little longer in the oven to heat through. I got asked to make it again for the next function. Also, my brother seems to think that this recipe with a few additions (bacon and either chicken broth or cream to thin it out) would make an excellent soup. Anybody try that yet?
