“This is a tasty and very easy sandwich to make. It is sort of a cross between a peppers and onion sandwich with sausage and a buffalo chicken cheese steak. You can make it as hot or mild as you like. I use this sandwich as dinner with soup and salad. A very satisfying meal. The amount of blue cheese depends on how messy or not you like your sandwich to be.”

Original recipe yields 4 sandwiches

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet and tilt skillet to coat surface. Cook sausage slices in the heated skillet until nicely browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Add onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the sausages; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer sausage mixture to a bowl.
  2. Stir blue cheese dressing and hot sauce into the sausage mixture, assuring the sausage slices are coated in sauce.
  3. Make a bed of spinach in each hoagie roll. Top spinach with the sausage mixture.

I was looking for an easy to make sandwich for lunch and came across this. All I can say is, wow. Great flavors. This will go into my regular rotation whether it be for lunch or dinner. Thank you Joey Joan.

This is SOOOO delicious! I ate mine without the bun and dressing and it was still very good. My husband had it all and talked about it all night. Can't wait to make this again.

Perfect! I'm lucky enough to have a speciality grocery store that makes all different flavors of fresh chicken sausages, so I did use fresh buffalo chicken sausages, cooked them and kept them whole. Added in the peppers and onions, cooked those then added the buffalo sauce and heated through. I actually forgot to use the spinach (and I bought it too, lol), so I put the sausage on the toasted bun, topped w/ more buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, the peppers and onions and some crumbled blue cheese. These were so tasty, and hubby and the little guy absolutely LOVED them! A great twist on a sausage, peppers and onion sandwich. I will def be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
