Based on a 2,000 calorie diet

  1. Line a 9-inch square baking dish with aluminum foil.
  2. Combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat; cook, stirring frequently, until chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and immediately stir milk and butter into the chocolate mixture. Stir peppermint extract and vanilla extract into the mixture.
  3. Spread chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish. Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
  4. Remove from dish by grabbing the foil and pulling straight up. Cut fudge into small squares. Store in covered container in refrigerator.

This is a really easy and quick recipe to make. I spooned mine into individual mini muffin cups and topped with a Candy Cane Kiss. I also just left them to cool overnight on my kitchen counter and they set up just fine.

What a terrible waste of time and money! After 4 hrs in the fridge it was just a sticky mess clinging to the tin foil. I tried the freezer for another hour and it still didn't harden. I threw the whole mess in the trash, then had to run out and buy a cake for a xmas party I was making the fudge for.

This recipe did not work for me! It didn't harden to the correct consistency even though I did everything correctly. Though it tasted yummy, we had to eat it with a spoon as we couldn't even slice it.
