Directions

  1. Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Arrange bread in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Toast bread lightly on both sides in preheated oven, about 1 minute per side.
  3. Mix tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, and dill in a bowl. Spread tuna mixture evenly over each slice of bread. Arrange tomato slices over tuna mixture and top with Swiss cheese.
  4. Return baking sheet to oven and broil until cheese is melted, 3 to 5 minutes more.

Yay! First to review and you get 5 stars! I have never had a tuna melt before. Cheese and Tuna weirds me out...not anymore though. :) I think swiss is a perfect choice because it is a mild cheese...normally I don't really go for swiss because I love strong cheese - but with tuna this wouldn't work in my opinion. I added jalapenos for kick because that is me. It is a very tasty and easy recipe! Thanks for sharing!!

Skinnied this up with greek yoghurt and used cheddar for the kiddos. These are fantastic tuna melts! Making round two tonight.
